To commemorate Earth Day 2012, Abanaki made a monetary donation to the non-profit group WaterAid. A portion of all oil skimmer and oil belt skimmer sales from April 22 through May 31 was donated to support WaterAid’s efforts in improving the access to clean and safe drinking water for those in some of the world’s poorest communities. Unfortunately, an estimated 3,000 children die every day due to water-related diseases. WaterAid has successfully helped to improve the lives of roughly 16 million people worldwide through hygiene education and improving the access to clean and safe water.
